Techne · a Kolektiv product

You don't have a website.
In 72 hours, you will.

A proper website for your business — built, hosted, and kept working — for $470 a year. Everything is included: the site, the hosting, the security certificate, your domain name, and edits when things change. One ten-minute phone call is all we need from you.

Two plans. That's the whole menu.

Pay for the year and save. Or pay monthly and cancel whenever you like — the price is the same either way, we just charge less if you pay up front.

Starter

Everything a business needs to exist online and be found.

$470 per year

or $49 a month — paying yearly saves you $118.

Get Starter — $470/year or $49/month
  • A 4–5 page website built from your details
  • Your domain name, registered in your name
  • Hosting and SSL — nothing extra to buy
  • Click-to-call on every page
  • A contact form that emails you
  • Your hours, services and service area
  • Local business listing data (schema.org) so AI assistants and search engines can read you
  • Linked to your Google Business Profile
  • 2 content edits a month

Prices exclude Washington sales tax, which we add on the invoice where it applies. Your domain renewal (about $12 a year) is billed at cost.

The part everyone else buries

Your website, your domain, your decision.

Most monthly-website companies keep your domain in their own name and make leaving expensive or difficult. We think that's how you keep customers who want to go. Here is the whole of our position, in five lines:

  1. Your domain is in your name. From day one.

Not ours, not “held on your behalf”, not transferable-on-request. Your name is on the registration the day it's bought, and you get the login.

  2. Cancel any time, by yourself.

A link or an email. No phone call you have to make during business hours, no retention script, and no early termination fee — ever, on either plan.

  3. Leave and you keep the site.

Cancel and we send you your whole website as files, free, along with the domain you already own. Put it on any host you like. Nothing gets switched off to make a point.

  4. Paid for the year and changed your mind? We refund the rest.

Pro-rata, no argument. If you cancel in month three of an annual plan, you get nine months back.

  5. No contract. No financing. No instalment plan.

Month to month, or pay for a year and save. That's the whole menu. There is nothing to be locked into.

None of this costs us much, because we're not relying on trapping you. If the site stops being worth $49 a month to you, you should be able to walk — with your domain, your site and your money for the unused months.

How the 72 hours actually go

  1. Day 1

    A ten-minute phone call

We ask what you do, where you work, your hours, your prices, and what customers ask you all day. You talk, we write it down. Then you text us your photos.

  2. Day 2

    Your site goes live

We build it, register your domain in your name, turn on the security certificate, and send you the link. It works on a phone, because that's where your customers are.

  3. Day 3

You tell us what's wrong, we fix it

Wrong price, missing service, a photo you hate. One round of changes is part of getting started, not an extra. Then it's yours.

What we need from you

Your phone number and hours
The two things every visitor is looking for.
What you do, and roughly what it costs
Four to six services. Starting prices if you're willing to give them.
The areas you cover
Neighbourhoods or towns, in your words.
5–10 photos
Van, storefront, team, finished work. Phone photos are fine.
Your Google Business Profile link
If you have one. If you don't, we'll help you claim it.
Two or three things customers have said about you
Real ones. We don't write reviews.

Don't have photos yet? We'll still launch. Every photo slot gets a clean placeholder until yours arrive, and swapping them in later takes us five minutes.

What this is not

We're selling convenience, not uniqueness. Being clear about the edges is how the price stays where it is — and honestly, most businesses don't need what's on this list.

Custom design

You pick a style, we fit your business into it. That's how it costs $470 instead of $4,700.

A logo or a rebrand

We'll use what you've got. If you don't have a logo, your name set in good type looks better than most logos anyway.

An online shop

No carts, no checkout, no inventory. If you need to sell products online, you need something bigger than this.

Booking systems and customer logins

We'll link to a booking tool you already use. We won't build one.

Twenty pages of blog posts

Four or five pages that are correct and load fast beat twenty that nobody reads.

If you need any of that, you need a designer, and you should hire one — a proper custom site in Seattle runs $2,000 to $7,500 and there are people who do it well. Techne is for the business that has been putting this off for three years because that number is why.

See one

A finished site, start to end

We built a full site for a made-up Seattle drain company so you can see exactly what you get — every page, on a phone, with nothing hidden.

Questions

Do I really get a website in 72 hours?

Yes, if you send us your photos and details on the call. Day one we talk for ten minutes. Day two your site is live. Day three you tell us what to change and we change it. The thing that slows this down is almost always waiting on photos.

What if I already have a domain name?

Even easier. Keep it where it is — we'll point it at the new site, and it stays in your name exactly as it is now.

Who owns the website?

You own your domain and everything on the site — your words, your photos, your business details. If you leave, you take all of it with you, plus the finished site as files.

What counts as an edit?

New price, new service, changed hours, a new photo, a typo, a holiday closure. On Starter that's two a month. On Care it's thirty minutes a month, which in practice is a lot more than two.

Can I pay monthly?

Yes — $49/mo or $99/mo, cancel whenever. Paying for the year costs less: $118 less on Starter, $238 less on Care.

Why is this so much cheaper than everyone else?

Because we're not designing something from nothing. You get a proven layout with your business in it, and the work is mostly assembly. Hosting a small site costs us almost nothing. We'd rather charge a price you'll say yes to without a meeting.

What if I want something you don't do?

We'll tell you straight away, and point you at someone who does. That's a better outcome than taking your money for something we'd do badly.

Ready when you are.

$470 for the year, or $49 a month. Live in 72 hours. Cancel whenever you like and keep everything.

Prices exclude Washington sales tax, which we add on the invoice where it applies.
